Our Company

Daybrook Fisheries is committed to making quality products, honoring our values, following sustainable practices, and serving our customers

Who Are We?

Daybrook has been around since 1990 and was a privately held company until 2015 when it was acquired by Oceana Group Limited. Proudly located in Empire, Louisiana, near the Mississippi River, only fresh whole fish are used to make our exemplary products. Daybrook Fisheries is an integrated company that processes menhaden into fishmeal and fish oil products. Menhaden, small, oily fish, are migratory plankton feeders, schooling in large numbers during the fishing season from mid-April to November 1. Emerging as a leading producer of high-quality omega-3-rich menhaden fishmeal and fish oil, Daybrook achieves this through employing a skilled workforce. We pride ourselves on having assembled an elite team who drives the company’s stability and growth.

Our Values

At Daybrook Fisheries, our commitment to excellence is anchored in our core values of teamwork, courage, accountability, trust, and respect—collectively known as TRACT. We empower our team to face challenges with courage and innovation while ensuring accountability at every level. Trust is fundamental to our relationships, and respect for each other and our resources is paramount. These principles guide us in sustainably providing high-quality seafood, exceeding the expectations of our customers and communities

Sustainability at our Core

Sustainability is integral to Daybrook’s business philosophy. Daybrook Fisheries is devoted to responsibly managing the Menhaden Fishery, collaborating closely with fishery management entities and environmental regulatory agencies to safeguard our oceans and natural resources. The company operates within a heavily regulated, sustainable fishery governed by the Gulf States Menhaden Management Plan and overseen federally by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). We are part of many associations and global organizations to support our waters!

Safety First

Today, Daybrook recognizes that its employees are its most important asset and strives to empower each one with the knowledge and skills to succeed. Prioritizing employee safety, Daybrook consistently receives awards for its exceptional safety record. We are honored to have received the 2013 Safety Excellence Award from Signal Mutual for our outstanding track record. In 2023, Daybrook experienced zero lost time injuries across the company.  In 2026, Daybrook received Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC)’s Safest 70 Award for demonstrating “exceptional leadership in workplace safety.” Additionally, our suppliers’ vessels comply with a stringent code of conduct, aligning with all other boats in the Gulf. Daybrook recognizes and embraces the importance of the recreational fishery to this region.
